An au pair program in the UK lasts from 6-12 months. Main responsibilities: working with children and light household chores (such as grocery shopping or cooking). 25-30 working hours per week: babysitting, picking up, taking to school or kindergarten. Feed the children, help with homework (if needed). After lessons with the child, you can go to the playground or accompany to the sports section or circle. In most host families 2-3 times a week, babysitting is possible in the evenings. The exact and final schedule is agreed and approved individually with each family. Completion of assigned tasks are paid with pocket money of £150 per week.
Free meals and accommodation (private room) are provided. There will be at least 1 free day off each week (Sunday), although in most cases a full weekend and 4 weeks of paid vacation per year. Attending language courses to learn or improve English is available from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm.
